Mavs are still alive

Big man Dirk Nowitzki,  dropped eight of his season-high 33 units in extra time to lift his team Dallas Mavericks to an important 109-102 win Tuesday against  all-star Chris Paul and the Los Angeles Clippers at the American Airlines Center in Texas. The Mavericks (35-36) have won three straight and nine of their last 12 to pull within one game of the Los Angeles Lakers for the eighth seed in the West.

Mavs are looking for a playoff ticket . Do you think Mavs can top Lakers for it ? Mavs want to destroy Lakers for the last seed.

Paul also scored a season-high 33 points, but turned the ball over seven times as Los Angeles (48-23) began a stretch of four games in five nights with a tough loss. The Clippers still need one more win to match the franchise’s single-season record and one more road victory to clinch a winning road record for the first time in team history.

THE FIGURE: The Mavericks had just their second win in overtime (2-8) this season and only their second win (2-13) against one of the top five teams in the Western Conference (San Antonio, Denver, Oklahoma City, Memphis and the Clippers). What a tremendous performance to believe in post season ! Hopes and hard work . I say

RED HOT : Paul, who was questionable with a bad sore left knee, was 12-for-15 (3-for-5 3-pointers) with six rebounds, five assists and two steals. He scored the Clippers’ last 10 points of regulation and gave them a short 99-97 lead to begin the overtime.

GOOD BASKETBALL TIP: Dallas  dangerous guard O.J. Mayo offered the extra session with a beautiful baseline drive and left-handed layup with less than a second remaining. Today, OJ Mayo scored less and his team is able to win crucial games.  Also, I love watching  veteran Mike James playing. His basketball science is extremely useful for postseason believing  Mavs.

NOTABLE: On a baseline jumper with 8:52 left in the first period, Nowitzki passed Patrick Ewing (24,815) for 17th place on the NBA’s all-time scoring list. Next on the list is the  laker Jerry West (25,192). …  The Mavericks are 17-2 at home when leading at halftime (50-48). … The Clippers fell to 37-3 when leading after the first quarter (27-22). … There were 14 ties and 14 lead changes.

Dirk is the first european as active player in that list.

Point Guard Chris Paul dropped 19 points and  handed out 16 assists, and the Los Angeles Clippers topped the answerless Dallas Mavericks 99-93 on Wednesday matchup, extending their franchise-record home winning streak to 13 wins.

Matt Barnes “the slashing man” with many tattoos exploded for 19 points from the bench, and  the strong Blake Griffin had a  solid double double with 15 points and 13 boards for the powerful Clippers (29-8), who stole the position of the NBA’s best record from the runner-up Oklahoma City.

Darren Collison collected 22 points for Dallas. O.J. Mayo added 17 and german Dirk Nowitzki chipped in 15.

Now at 13-23, the Mavs slid 10 games below the balance of .050 for the first time since March 30, 2000, two months after  maverick Mark Cuban owned the team.

They’ve dropped four in a row and three straight on the road, where they are 5-16. Dallas is desperately falling down !

The team has been looking for an angular stone in the paint since Tyson Chandler was sent to New York Knicks to make the dirty job.

The Clippers was ahead  of  the whole first half, trailed by 10 points in third quarter and then retook the control of the game for the first time in the fourth on Paul’s skilled theft  and then he dropped an easy layup that made it 82-80 advantage for home team.

Then,Clippers were never rejoined by Mavs.

Mavs had no solution for bench breaker Gordon Hayward.

HAYWARD

He dropped a season high 27 units , including four triple to lead Utah Jazz past Dallas 100 94 on Monday contest.

G.Hayward was described by Rick Carlisle like a good player. ” He hurt us all night ” He’s a very athletic player ” He’s very skilled and he understands well how to run the floor ” Gordon has embodied the costume of the perfect “bench erupter” since the 11th game of the season.

He has become the leader of the Jazz bench this season , embracing his new role of coming after the first rotation.

Here’s a comparison of Hayward’s production since playing from a starter to a substitute.

To cruise Mavs, the best reserver of Jazz hit back to back 3’s and Marvin Williams followed him and hit his only bucket of the game to carry his team with a big triple.

Nowitzki, back on the game led his team with 20 points in his only second start of his season after missing 27 games due to a painful knee injury which asked for a  quick surgery.

The Jazz behind this new home success are 18-18 and hope to clinch a playoff ticket.

The fourth corner owned the home team this night. When the game became nasty,  They outscored Dallas 26-14 in the money time. Dallas did not match Utah’s physicality in that period. Dallas just scored only 14 units on 5 of 16 shooting.

Hayward stayed hot and contributed for seven points.

Hayward,27 points,  from Butler College , played one of the best games of his young career. Jazz needed it because the rest of the team

was in pain offensively until the last corner. Hayward found his way on the second act with 15 points a season-high for a quarter.

The Stat of The Game : Dallas dropped to 1-13 on the road when foes score 100 points or more.

Here’s a graph to describe Hayward pct by shoots.

On overall he converted  161 field goals from 374  tried which means a correct .043 PCT.

Danilo Gallinari

Danilo Gallinari the 24 years old italian good-looking guy sank seven 3 pointers and dropped a career night 39 points.

He’s the most fecund player of the night with 39 units.

The Mavericks registered their fifth straight loss. Defense is their big issue.

Andre Iguodala, the versatile combo guard-forward was pretty efficient with 20 points. He connected 4 field goal from long-range.

Kenneth Faried , the monster forward had an other double double with 11 points and a game-high 19 rebounds to clean the glass.

The Arc was the private space of Denver

Denver made 12 of 28 from behind the arc.  Mavs were clumsy making only 5 of 25.

Nowitzki thinks Danilo is a great player.

“He was one of the best players in the game,” Gallinari, a 6-foot-10 forward from Italy, said of the 7-foot Nowitzki from Germany. “So you always try to follow and learn from the best.

For his expected return in the league R.R offered a win for Minnesota Timbervolves.

The genius is the right man in the right place !

Rubio lifted Wolves over Mavs 114 – 106 without  the forward Kevin Love, the double double machine, who was flu.

In only 18 minutes,  he scored 8 points and delivered 9 assists. He was truly efficient for his comeback.

His team finished to copy him ” sharing the ball ” and ” pacing the game ”  as Timberwolves finished with 28 assists to trump Dallas.

Now , Minnesota is 12-9 and wants to play the post-season with a well-balanced team led by a strong bench which adds a fresh soul.

Is it possible for Timberwolves to play without the Spanish talent ?

Rubio is essential for his team. Below you are to understand why thanks to Stats provided by ESPN Stats.

Since he joined the NBA last season, the Timberwolves are really better with Rubio running the court.
They’re over .500 when he plays. And his presence makes a tough difference. Timberwolves are Orphan without Rubio.
Minnesota allows more than 100 points per game when he doesn’t play.
