When: Game 4 vs. the Memphis Grizzlies, Western Conference Semifinals

Stat of the line: 37 units, 6 assists and 4 rebounds

After a poor first half in which he scored 12 points on 6-of-9 shooting from the field, Parker came out firing in the third act, making six of his seven shots and finishing with 14 points in the quarter. While Games 2 and 3 of the series were decided in overtime, Parker took it upon himself to make sure that 48 minutes were all that would be needed in Game 4 by scoring 11 points in the fourth quarter to finish the sweep. Parker is the right man in the right place. He was better than Conley in the Final of The West Conference. Pretty good , very efficient with his runs.

Parker has scored at least 30 points in 15 of his 166 career playoff games and this 37 point performance would be good for his fourth highest scoring game in the playoffs.

This game, for Tony Parker, wasn’t defined by big dunks or a flurry of 3-pointers. In fact, the engine behind Parker’s playoff performance is his offensive efficiency. His capacity to be such efficient is very good for Spurs. They can rely on him during a whole post season. Parker needs to be more highlighted.

Tony Parker’s 37 points with a .714 field-goal percentage marked the first time since 2009 that a guard has scored at least 35 points while shooting better than 70 percent in the playoffs. The last guard to do it? Tony Parker himself. Spurs is the perfect team to show the power of Parker.

Hey dude, What do you want ? Today , I found for you a special guy who is able to run the floor like nobody in the league.

He’s the fastest player in the NBA with the ball, according to NBA cameras that evaluate speed. He was measured at 20.9 MPH, which was the best out of anyone ! Not enough for you ? I let you guard Parker on the court  ! Good luck ! I hope you are ready to make your heart and your mind run ! The show must go on !

Point Guard: Tony Parker (2001-present)

Born in Belgium and toughly raised in France by his american father, Parker came to the Spurs as the 28th overall pick in the 2001 draft. It was a special gift for the serious coach Pop. Tony Parker , Tim Duncan and Manu Ginobili represent one of the best trio of the league despite their advanced ages.  Parker has a fabulous career with the spurs which adpoted the french touch.

Parker has been part of three championship rings in San Antonio and is a five-time NBA All-Star who was named MVP of the NBA Finals in 2007. What a phenomenal career for the french boy !

Parker is a remarkably efficient competitor, shooting 49.4 percent in his career and averaging 17.1 points and six assists per game. In his 12-year career Parker connected 14,917 points, logged 5,247 assists and recorded a PER of 19.1.

The assist total is tops in franchise history and the points rank him fourth. With 836 steals, Parker ranks seventh on the franchise’s all-time list and he is fourth with 872 games and 28,688 minutes.

Here’s what Parker has done for Spurs and for your eyes, as in his top 10 plays from 2012-13.

The reigning  MVP LeBron James had a fast start in the NBA playoffs in 2013. His team was so good to trounce the lowly Bucks !

Check out my standing : The Top 3 of best players are :

3. Carmelo Anthony, New York Knicks

Carmelo Anthony got the Knicks out of the first round of the playoffs for the first time since 2000. He did what he does best which is score. He averaged over 29 points a game in the series win over the Celtics. His shooting abilities sometimes annoy me as he takes to many shoots.

Anthony, who only got out of the first round once with the Nuggets, shot under 40 percent but was still the best value in the series. Anthony will face a  new and tough challenge in the next round against the defensive minded Pacers. Defense !

2. LeBron James, Miami Heat

The MVP of the league has played like it in the playoffs. LeBron James and the Miami Heat swept the Bucks .  James does everything on the court . He has averaged 24.8 units with eight rebounds and six assists a game in the series. Bucks had no chance to defeat Heat !

In my eyes, James is the best all-around player in the league and looks to be on the verge of another NBA trophy. I love watching LeBron James ! He is a cyborg !

1. Stephen Curry, Golden State Warriors

Stephen Curry was the super star of the Warriors 4-2 series win over the Denver Nuggets. He averaged 24.3 points a game during the series and also dished out 9.3 assists. His shooting numbers were also off the chart as he shot 43 percent from behind the arc. He connected also 23 pointers ( 14 at home ) to ruin Denver’s hopes. I  really love watching Curry. G.Karl must be in the dumps after that upset !

Curry, who was already a good player in the NBA, established himself as a superstar in the playoffs. If he gets hot in the next round, the Spurs could have some trouble. Pop is not afraid of his impact but he has surely prepared a system to limit him ! Spurs are here to stop the Californian dream !

Milwaukee Bucks guard Oscar Robertson (1) shoots against the Los Angeles Lakers at Milwaukee Arena. Robertson was one of best player in NBA to play in three dimensions : points, assists, rebounds.

After a digression check out Big O who is the embodiment of triple doubles :

A Triple-Double is recorded when a player records 10 or more in three of the following categories: points, assists, rebounds, steals, and blocked shots. Prior to the 1973-74 season, the NBA did not record steals and blocked shots. Today numbers are very important in NBA to compare players and write good articles. Figures never lie !

An amazing stat involving NBA Triple Doubles is that in 1961-62, Oscar Robertson, while playing for the Cincinnati Royals averaged a triple-doubles over the entire season and he was a sophomore. He averaged 30.8 points, 12.5 rebounds, and 11.4 assists. Robertson is the only player to ever accomplish this. During that season, he also set the mark for most triple-doubles in one season with 41 (played in 79 games). Those are two records that will probably never be broken.

The ’62 season rolled around and the following things happened:

1. Wilt averaged 50 points. He finished with 4029 points.

2. Oscar averaged a triple double production over his sophomore season.

3. Walt Bellamy averaged a 32-19 in his rookie season with Chicago Packers

4. Russell averaged 23.6 boards and fell two behind Wilt for the rebound title

Wilt Chamberlain recorded the only NBA Double-Triple-Double; 22 points, 25 rebounds, and 21 assists. Also in 1968, Chamberlain had an impressive streak of nine consecutive games in which he recorded a triple-double. He was the best center and has such an impact in games.

The second longest streak is held by Oscar Robertson and Michael Jordan, both of whom recorded a triple-double in seven consecutive games. Robertson’s streak occurred in the 1961–62 season, while Jordan’s streak went from March 25 to April 6 of 1989.

Kyle Korver is hot this season

Posted: 2013/04/02 in award, News

Kyle Korver is not afraid to drop shoots after shoots.

Atlanta’s Kyle Korver was very good on three 3-pointers to tie Reggie Miller an NBA  legend  for the fourth-longest streak (68 games) in NBA history making at least one.

Kyle Korver, from Creigthon is one of the best shooter in the league. Look at the best players in 3-point Field Goal Percentage . He ranks 3rd in the NBA with 45.4%. He has made 176 triple. He did not manage to score at least one triple in only one game this season . It was during the season opener. What an elite player ! Kyle Korver is the only player to top 30 years old in that list ( total of 3 made top 10 ). The second oldest player is Randy Foye with 29. Korver is one of my favourite player in the NBA with his passion for the line.

The face of the Hawk’s threat from downtown is very hot with a straight of 68 games with at least one triple.

Kyle Korver 8 second half 3-pointers vs Celtics (2013.01.25)

Paul is the first Clippers to lift the trophy of the All-Star MVP

A trophy is a reward for a specific achievement, and serves as recognition or evidence of merit.

Yes that night, Paul deserved his trophy as he was terrific and unselfish to offer tremendous moves.

The Facts

Why did Chris Paul become the MVP that night ?

Chris Paul All star MVP

Chris Paul did exactly what to do with the great talents around him in Sunday’s NBA All-Star game: find at ease the open man and make the show bigger and pace the game.

He made 7-of-10 shots, including four 3-pointers, and only became the third player to drop at least 20 points and 15 assists in the annual showcase, joining a couple of former elite point guards, called Magic Johnson and Isiah Thomas, the best point guards in the 90’S.

A big Season with Clippers

Paul became the first Los Angeles Clippers player to be named MVP, scoring 20 points and collecting 15 dimes in the West’s 143-138 win over the East.

The first step of  a spectacular game was for…

The first dunk of the game came 16 seconds in a move where Paul handed out a pass to Griffin.

The West led after each of the first three quarters, though was never ahead by more than eight points through three periods.

Serve is my will

Paul said. “A guy like me, that’s a facilitator, I enjoy (it).”

Paul already had the best per-game assists average in All-Star history, 12.4 in four appearances.

He already had nine dimes and plenty of fancy dribbling in the first half.

But with so many stars to choose from, Paul could spread it around…

Paul also pitched assists to Kevin Durant, who finished with 30 units for another big all star game. Also CP3 liked providing teammates , like Griffin and more..

A crafty player able to steal and share

Paul, leading the league this season with 2.59 steals per game, tailed four in the All-Star game.

“He had great passes, (was) making steals, made big buckets,” Durant said. “He played a hell of a game. It was a pleasure playing with him.”

Paul is averaging 9.6 dimes – second to Boston’s  clever Rajon Rondo – in his second season with the  rising Clippers. More significantly, he’s led the Clippers to a 39-17  overall record and he, Blake Griffin and “Lob City” have helped their franchise steal some of the L.A. spotlight from the floundering Lakers, who  currently sit 10th in the Western Conference with an unbalanced team which is looking for a post season appearance in a tough Western Conference.

“You just want to play fast,” Paul said. “I like to throw the lob. I like to see guys hit 3s. When you’re out on the court with all that firepower, why wouldn’t you want to make passes?” said Chris Paul.

Faried of the Denver Nuggets is the new BBVA Rising Stars Challenge MVP.

Team Chuck 163, Team Shaq 135

The second year , the Manimal  literally crashed the BBVA Rising Stars Challenge all right and all night, winning the game’s MVP Award for the first time. He played  his basketball with his  intense dunks, and not only in the final 90 seconds or so, when both sides did not play defense and mostly stood and watched one player car down the runway on either side of basket . Kyrie Irving, a rising star was pretty good with 32 units but not enough to overcome Faried’s 40 points.

Chemistry was in favor of Chuck side.

Team Chuck really outscored Team Shaq 42 -28 in a key sector , ” the assists house ” .

Ricky Rubio and I.Thomas contributed for 20 flashy dimes.

I.Thomas was the best player of the game in +/- with a huge advantage of  +30.

That night, Rubio and Faried liked playing together. How timely ! Will Rubio and Faried play together for a big NBA team, for one day ?

• Rubio hits Faried on the oop

Faried  seriously attacked the rim and secured big boards like nobody, too, collecting a big double-double with 40 points and 10 rebounds in 22 minutes for the winning lineup as Team Chuck (Barkley)  seriously outlast Team Shaq (O’Neal) 163-135 in the BBVA Rising Stars Challenge in HOUSTON, Texas.

Shaq must be in the dumps, because he loathes losing. He’s a winner.

Team Chuck was more aggressive and played better to beat Team Shaq.

Faried was the MVP, but the Cavaliers were in majority.

Indeed, four  members of the rotation in Cleveland were on the court in Houston: Tristan Thompson for Team Chuck and Kyrie Irving, Tyler Zeller and Dion Waiters for Team Shaq. Irving, a reserve for the Eastern Conference in the  great All-Star Game on Sunday, had 32 points, six assists, five rebounds .

But how about the defense ? Defense is not a priority in that kind of contest.  Yes , spectacular moves are wanted by players and spectators. We love watching energy in offensive possessions, but some defensive actions can be asked to make the game and reinforce the will to win !

And what do you think about the defense ?

“Not in the first half,” Zeller stated.

Team Chuck tailed 90 points by then while shooting 66.1 percent. At the break, Faried scored already 19 points and Isaiah Thomas of the Sacramento Kings added 14 while going a perfect 4-for-4 from behind the arc. After the defense clamped down  after the break, the “Chucks” summarized the game at 63.9 percent.
