Timberwolves stopped impressive Thunder’s 12 game winning streak

Timberwolves 99 , Thunder 93

The Thunder win streak of 12 wins  is over.

The Thunder was really is hot in their last contests. The Thunder stormed into Target Center having the longest winning streak since the team moved to Oklahoma City, trouncing opponents by an average of 14.2 points per game. What a great performance !

But every streak has an end. Kevin Durant 33 points and Russel Westbrook 30 points were not enough , the best players of the runner-up team the last season did not success to hold off Minnesota yesterday in Target Center.

The last defeat for Thunder was vs Boston on November 23rd.

The Wolves 13-11 snapped the Thunder’s 12 game winning streak, topping them thanks to a good balanced production.

Kevin Love had a solid game , with 11 rebounds , seven assists  to go with 28 points. The Center , Nikola Pekovic added 24 points and 10 rebounds. Timberwolves outscored Thunder in assists production 2717  . Moreover Minnesota bench production (22) was clearly better than Thunder bench production (7).

Timberwolves frontcourt handed by K.Love and N.Pekovic exploded for 52 points and 21 rebounds.

Timberwolves Barea Ba_Hans

J.J Barea coming of the bench,18 points,was the factor X in this contest as he put the Wolves on his back. He dropped 14 points in just  over four minutes and gave Minnesota an 11 point lead with 5:26 to play.

He scored 12 points in a row to frustrate Kevin Durant and W.Westbrook.

The good surprise came from Minnesota rookie guard Alexey Shved who had another strong all-around game.

He triggered Minnesota’s quick start with six assists in the first period and he finished with a season-high 12 assists to go with his 12 points and seven rebounds.
